Project 1
Defining and documenting a project

The objectives of this project are as follows:
• To understand the application of management techniques in the control and direction of project
resources
• To understand the basic stages of project management & roles of the different consultants in the construction
industry
• To understand the use of "Success Criteria" in evaluating a project

In a group, the task is to identify an actual project implemented by a developer or Architect as the lead consultant. The project must emphasize on COST, QUALITY or TIME, with a measurable ‘success criteria’. The group is required to study the objectives and goals of the selected project, job scopes and responsibilities of the Project Manager or Architect as the lead consultant as well as the project team members involved, preparation of project schedules, procurement and implementation strategies of
the project.
The information can be obtained by conducting visitation to the respective organizations, distributing questionnaires or interviews with the relevant parties that are directly and indirectly involved in the project. The groups must utilize the hours allocated for the module to organize their activities. In addition, the groups will be assessed via their performance each week based on their plans and
schedules that is to be submitted on the 1st week of this assignment.

Project 2
Final project management report

The objectives of this project are as follows:
• To understand the application of management techniques in the control and direction of project
resources
• To evaluate the dynamic changes which occur during a project’s life cycle and the nature of a
project’s success.
• To understand the means of evaluating and managing risks that can lead to success and failure
in a project’s performance.
