Project 1
Classification of Building Materials
Final presentation boards
We are required to select a local or international Architect, together with their buildings. Building must use be only 3 types of building material such as:
- Stones
- Concrete
- Brick
- Glass (compulsory)
2 Presentation A2 board consisting the architect’s background, concept of building and explanation about the building materials. Plans, elevations and sections of the building need to be considered with drawings that are to be manually drawn.
- Identification of the types of materials used in building designs
- Suitability of materials in building design (advantage and disadvantages)
- Characteristics of materials
- Expression of materials in physical built form (solid, transparent, translucent etc.)

Reflection
In this project, Jian Xiang introduced us about visiting this building (Royal Selangor), which I think it is interesting to study on the building materials that used to construct both old and new building. Able to identify the difference of building materials from the past and the present. This had encouraged me to work more on researches to enhance my general knowledge before having a site visit with my teammates.
For this group project, I really appreciate my group members as we are able to work together well and produce work with initiatives. We've been through many arguments but still we are able to complete this project successfully. Unfortunately, some detailed information are not recorded in the presentation boards which cause us to lose some points from it. Lastly, I hope that there will be more projects like this, it allows me to explore further and increase my creative thinking skills. Even though it is tough but practice makes perfect.

In this project, we are required to search for a site either it is religious places or offices that have building materials and spaces that are intesting.

Reflection
In this project, we as a group visited Glad Tidings (Church), proposed by Cherilyn Chia. It was my first time visiting church. As I am a very religious kinda person which made me think of experiencing a heavenly atmosphere when I stepped into the entrance but I felt that I was just being dramatic. There were many element of building materials that consist of meaningful stories behind it.
For this group project, I really appreciate my group members as we've been through many arguments but still we are able to complete this project successfully.
