Project 1
Case Study of Building Services in Public Buildings
In group of 6, we are to perform a case study on building services systems applied are installed in multi-storey buildings.
We've identified shopping complex - Setia City Mall as our case study. Technical visit to the building allowed us to perform a thorough study on all the service systems such as
mechanical ventilation,
air conditioning system
fire protection system (active and passive fire protective system)
mechanical transportation system (elevator and escalator/travellator systems)
In the report, estimated dimensions and sizes of the space are required for all the equipment and plant rooms identified.

Reflection
Site visits are an important part of learning where it allow us to have greater understanding relating to the project, design and the process. It is a great exposure to learn from the seniors on site. There are hard times when we did not get sufficient information on the spot but with the help from team mates, we able to solve the problems from our discussions and meetings.
Project 2
Application of Building Services
In group of 6, we are to emphasizes on the systems used in domestic sized buildings. We are required to plan the application of systems for the building. The systems that needed to be included are:
Electrical supply system
Cold and hot water supply system
Sewerage and sanitary system
Rainwater/surface water drainage system
These systems are part of the plans required in the drawing. Including annotations which describe the planning and installations of all building services required.

Reflection
I appreciate that we've learnt to produce drawings that are relevant to our future working environment. It is a good practice to study ourselves on the process of planning systems of the house, analyze on the fittings and plumbing layout. After this assignment, I've found out the level of understanding in planning construction work had increased to another level.
